Slope is a small furniture design business based in Sligo, Ireland.

Slope accepts enquires for custom birch plywood commissions for home and business premises. Slope is also developing a range of high quality functional plywood furniture with a focus on efficient storage solutions and ergonomic functionality.

The concept of Slope, as it is today, is something that has been evolving over decades of making and gathering skills. Transferring my skills from precision engineering and toolmaking to obtaining a B.Sc. in Furniture Design & Manufacture from ATU Connemara (National Centre for Excellence in Furniture Design and Technology) as a mature student.

A decision to trade the smell of toolroom machine coolant and petrochemical polymers for the sweet scent of hand cut timber and sawdust, was a deliberate one. To embark on a new adventure of creativity, design and working with natural and sustainable materials is a move I feel very strongly about.

Using Birch plywood and solid timber, I design and make high quality, functional furniture with an focus on fine craftmanship and sustainability.
