Hall Cabinets

Lead Designer: Mike Harris

Location: Sligo

Year: Installed 2025

The Brief:
To design and make a storage cabinet for an underutilised end of the entrance hall area.

Storage to include drawers and shelves, with 1 large deep drawer for sea swimming gear etc and a number of drawers for shoes, hidden behind tall doors incorporating colour to match the front door.

The Solution:
A place for everything - and everything in its place.

With this space I was able to bring the doors forward to create very wide & long drawers, running on 600mm runners. Each drawer (left side) has an internal dimension of 1100mm x 600mm x 260mm, now housing an impressive collection of shoes & boots, organised neatly and standing tall.

The top ⅓ of the cabinets is dedicated to ample shelving.

The ample shadow gap masks the unevenness of the dwellings structure.

Don’t be fooled by its subtle appearance, this is a Tardis-like mega storage unit, dressed up and concealed behind a splash of colour.
